Roads lead in all directions, North to Aberfeldy, West to Perth, East to Loch Earn, South to Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Crieff also has many walks, perhaps Lady Mary’s Walk is the most well known, as well as a new leisure centre, the Crieff Hydro activity centre and many excellent independent shops. In the ‘old’ part of the town is the Croftweit mansion house. Originally the residence of Provost Mungall, this Grade 2 listed building has been renovated to have 6 apartments, one of which is The Grouse. Across two floors you can see the private garden that The Grouse apartment provides in our picture. The apartment is in a lovely position, close to all the facilities of the town yet a sophisticated and luxurious retreat thanks in part to the substantial mature grounds that the house has. Once inside the apartment you will love the pristine preparation that the owners complete before your arrival. The apartment is extremely well appointed and you could quite happily live here for a few weeks while enjoying all that Perthshire has to offer.

This house looks amazing in photographs and in reality is actually better. On the hillside above the road to Fort William, The Grange has been overlooking Loch Linnhe since 1895[check]. Lovingly restored over the last 20[check] years by the owners the house now has three exceptional bedrooms, all quite different ,with their own individual charm and luxury. The lounge and breakfast room are equally impressive and it is important to visit the web site and look through the images to get a real idea of what The Grange is about. Quite rightly this bed and breafast for couples holds many awards and is always graded as the highest quality. The decor and character here really is impressive and as reviews say, The Grange is superior to many hotels where you will pay several times as much.

The other point to mention is the welcome you will receive from your hosts. Many guests have remarked on this and it does take a special kind of person to be able to make you feel you are the first guest that has been welcomed to the house when you arrive. Booking is essential for this very popular accommodation as some visitors to Fort William will only stay here. Visit the web site soon!

A lovely crafted stone cottage reconstructed from the original byre that stood on this spot for well over 100 years, this is now luxury self catering accommodation for two. Built, decorated and furnished by the owners, their skills and eye for detail and design are obvious as they have created a delightful retreat in a quiet glen a few miles from Fort William.
The single track road climbs above the town on the way to Blarmafoldach. After twisting and winding through the glen the Old Byre becomes visible, sitting on a small knoll with lovely open views. You enter into the well equipped kitchen that is open plan with the spacious living room with under floor heating and also an open fire that will keep you extra cosy.
The bedroom is lovely with an ensuite that features a roll top bath with luxury toiletries and fluffy bathrobes.

Many guests who have stayed in the Old Byre return, often more than once, and when you have visited there you can understand why. www.oldbyre.com Tel: 0044 (0) 1397 705516

Byre: noun. A shelter for cows.
Knoll: noun. A small rounded hill.

This world-class Restaurant with Rooms is situated on the shore of Loch Dunvegan at Colbost in the remote north-west corner of Skye, the largest island of the Inner Hebrides, off the west coast of Scotland. Owned by Eddie and Shirley Spear, it has a long-established reputation. The Three Chimneys Restaurant and its 6 spacious bedrooms next door in The House Over-By, have won numerous awards and accolades consistently over almost three decades. Accomplished head chef, Michael Smith, leads the kitchen brigade today. He has already built his own outstanding reputation as a leading Scottish chef and continues to improve and develop the culinary high standards set by Shirley in earlier years.

The Three Chimneys Restaurant is housed within the bare stone walls of an original crofter’s cottage around 120 years old. With 3 small dining areas covering the whole of the ground floor, it has an intimate atmosphere. In contrast, the stylish, spacious bedroom suites in The House Over-By were built just 12 years ago. Between the restaurant and the accommodation, The Three Chimneys provides a unique Scottish destination experience not to be missed.
